Last night I competed @artbattleportland, and I won!!! 🥰✨ It was hosted @jajapdx and I’ve never experienced a more magical venue. I will definitely be visiting regularly! 😍

Thank you to everyone that bid on my paintings, voted for me, followed me, and commented on my style and my process, I appreciate all of it with all my heart! 💖

My first piece was a little mushroom world with trees growing out of the top and moss hanging down. And of course with little mushrooms growing out of the bottom!

My second painting was a lovely sunset forest, this one was so fun! It started upside down as you can see in the last picture, and then once I flipped it the drips became the trees ☺️

I approached these paintings with a bit of an “unhinged” energy, allowing whatever weirdness, excitement, and spontaneity to flow through me and enliven the canvas. I think it paid off! ✨🥰 I had so much fun, and I can’t wait to come back!

I’ve loved frogs since I was young, I’ve never interacted with one before, and today there happened to be a frog that I rescued from the playground.

Edit: Immediately after posting this, I learned that May is mental health awareness month. I guess this is a good time to tell you that I’ve found myself a therapist, and will be starting therapy soon. 💖

It’s easy to say “mental health is important”, but that doesn’t really do anything for someone that is struggling. Personally, I find the most healing in talking to people I trust about my struggles, because more often than not, it helps me open up to the possibility of other perspectives.

I do still believe perspective is everything, but sometimes finding an alternative perspective can be challenging beyond your capabilities. That’s where I’m at, which is why I’ve started the search for a therapist.

So if you’re struggling, I encourage you to reach out to someone you feel safe with, and talk to them about how you feel. I firmly believe that we are not meant to go through things all on our own.

Been painting with @jiltedcraftworks and it’s been very healing 💖

I’ve also been approaching my painting process as an exploration of emotion, color, experimentation, and play. I’ve found this technique to be incredibly therapeutic. I’m also in love with the result. 💕

It’s already May, when did that happen? 😅🌸

Change is constant and healing isn’t linear, but

Change is constant and healing isn’t linear, but there is a tension that develops when we are not allowing ourselves to heal through change.

Instead of continuing to believe that my patterns are simply a reflection of who I am, I am choosing to believe that they are as susceptible to change as everything else. That I am constantly changing.

I will not burden myself with thinking the way I’ve been is the way I’ll always be. That the life I want is out of reach, because I am who I am and that is all I can be.

Instead, I choose change. I choose to listen to my soul, because it wants to evolve. I choose to expand out of my comfort zone and into the life I envision. 💖

I finished another painting 🥹 (and posted a vid

I finished another painting 🥹 (and posted a video all about it!) swipe to see the final piece and 🔗 in bio for the video.😍

Normally, finishing paintings is quite difficult for me, and I know I’m not alone.

But this time I used a “formula” to focus on finishing the painting, and I think it works! I mean, I’ve finished two paintings in the last couple weeks!

But only time will tell if the formula really helps alleviate some of that “finishing pain”, or if completing a painting is sometimes meant to be a very messy process.
